While most aspiring artists prayed to be "discovered" in the mid-'90s, Tameko's dreams came true when a live radio broadcast of her singing with the local band caught the ear of Italian producers Ricardo Stecca, Andrea Acchioni, and Massimo Artusi. The union would give Tameko her first dose of stardom as she crafted and performed house and techno jams such as "Feel the Rhythm," "Now I Feel," and R & B-tinged tracks, "Love Makes Me High" and "Going in Circles ." The singles were released under the Italian label Irma Records with notable buzz.
The budding star enjoyed getting her feet wet with the release of her earlier singles. Still, an unexpected phone call to her "momager" from record label executive Angelo Bernado of Undiscovered Records would catapult Tameko's music career into overdrive.
Fresh off the heels of Livin' Joy's smash hit, "Dreamer," Bernado and hit producers Gianni and Paolo Visnadi met Tameko Star who became the top choice to take the brand to the next level. An R&B/pop artist at heart, Tameko was reluctant to join the Eurodance act, but with the backing of major label MCA now Universal Music Group, she eventually signed on to take over the reins.

Janice Robinson kicked off the brand with the monster hit 'Dreamer' in 1994 before departing.
As Janice departed, she then went on to a successful solo career, releasing a solo album 'The Color Within Me' and even toured with Tina Turner on her farewell tour in 2000.
Chatting about her time working with Tina, she said: "It was like it was like getting a PhD in performing. I wasn't out there, trying to have a cup of tea. I was out there to do a job. And you know, when she spoke to me, she spoke into me. She spoke her life into me, things that I should remember and making sure that I make time for a private life was one of the biggest things that she taught me."
More recently, Robinson re-released Dreamer alongside DJ Lodato and hopes to release her documentary about her life story this year.

Tameko Star has recently released brand new music, single 'Something Beautiful', with an EP to follow in the Spring of 2023. She is also set to tour the world with brand new shows, something her fans, known as Livin' Loyals, have been waiting for and that time has now come.
Chatting about her new single and the music video, Star said: "The concept of this video was about me being in two worlds that seemingly overlap. One minute I am in an earthly realm, the next, I'm in another dimension on a spaceship traveling to Jupiter, projecting myself on a monitor and inviting everyone to join me! Lol! It's reality versus my imagination!"
Discussing her return to the music world 25 years later, she told RetroPop: "Now is the time where independent artists can flourish, as opposed to being under a record label, being the last to get paid and being cheated out of your money, and being tossed about in the industry. Let me take the reins on my own accord and make music that I love for myself and for the Livin' Joy fans – so I did, and here comes Something Beautiful."
