Cheryl has revealed that she has considered playing a part in Vera, after 'hearing some of the accents'.
The popular crime-detective show, which is largely set in the North East, features actors who are not always from our neck of the woods.
In a new interview with The Independent, the 'Promise This' singer revealed she is open to more acting roles, after her upcoming stint in 2:22 A Ghost Story which opens tonight.
''I wanted to be in Vera. Sometimes I hear some dodgy accents [in that show] and I'm like, 'Guys, give me a call, I've got this'."
When asked about taking on different roles, Cheryl added: ''I would have to really hone the craft of learning different accents if I wanted a real serious shot at acting. I mean, I've been here [in the South] for 20 years and I've still got a strong Geordie accent. There aren't many roles I could do with this accent."

The interviewer suggested that she could run the youth club in a reboot of Byker Grove, with Tweedy playfully adding: "Yeah, exactly, I'd slot right in, wouldn't I?"
New pictures were released last week of the cast in rehearsals of 2:22, with one photo showing Cheryl in a cosy black jumper, deep in conversation while holding a brew and what looks like a kitchen set in another, giving us all a small glimpse into rehearsal life.
Cheryl will play Jenny who believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn't having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they're going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they'll know.
