Comedian Peter Kay has announced his comeback tour, with a date in Newcastle.

The comedian, 49, released an advert during the I'm A Celebrity break earlier this evening. During the break, Peter was seen in a hilarious clip holding a carpet for 'his mum'

It will be the first time the popular comedian has performed a stand-up show in ten years, previously performing 'Dance For Life' shows for charity.

Kay is also known for his comedy work on television shows such as Pheonix Nights and Car Share.

Peter was originally planned to tour in 2017, however, all dates were postponed. At the time, he released a statement: 

 "Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my ­family must always come first."

Chatting about the new tour, Peter said: 

"It's good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there's ever a time people need a laugh it's now" "And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010"

Peter Kay will be coming to Newcastle on 9th and 10th March 2023 at Newcastle Utilita Arena.

Tickets for Peter Kay's nationwide tour go on sale Saturday 12th November at 10am via www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
