Newcastle and Gateshead's skyline was lit by spectacular high-powered interactive lasers for the first of three nights this evening.
Newcastle City Council, alongside BAFTA award winning artist Se Lee-Delisle and NE1, have worked together on what is described as a 'dramatic' laser display.

Thousands of Geordies braved the rain on Thursday evening to enjoy the sights of the colourful laser lights which shone brightly to help light various iconic landmarks across the city. From Tyne Bridge, Malmaison, Sage Gateshead, Civic Centre, Baltic and Hadrian's Tower - to bring in 2022.
Some of the lucky visitors even got the chance to control the lasers via the City Light website!
