Geordie duo Ant and Dec took yet another swipe at the UK government, much to the humour of the public.

On Tuesday night’s show, the duo took a swipe at the alleged rumours that various parties were taking place at 10 Downing Street last year, when the whole of the UK were on lockdown and the public were not allowed to mix with other households indoors.

During a link on the ITV show, Declan said “It is all changing in camp now because yesterday the celebs chose a new leader via the gift of a secret vote.”

Turning to Dec, Anthony said “And that means David’s reign is over. But they weren’t celebrating. They categorically deny any suggestions that they had a party.”

“And this fictional party definitely didn’t involve cheese and wine, or a Secret Santa.”

The rumours circled after an ex spokesperson for Boris Johnson joked about a ‘fictional’ Christmas party during lockdown 2020 and also joked that social distancing was not followed, in a mock interview by ITV.
10 Downing Street said in a statement that social distancing measures were not broken.

On Wednesday night’s show, Ant and Dec said

“That will come back to bite him at some point. It might take a year, but it will happen.”

“Oh we’ll launch an inquiry or something, not that it will do anything.”

Of course, the duo were yet again referring to recent events of the alleged party during lockdown.

Social media went wild both nights with many finding the links as added humour to the show, with others joining in by mocking the government.
