Youth Workers Employed To Help Young People In Gateshead

Published by Radio Gateshead on

Two youth workers have now been employed to interact and help young people in parts of Gateshead.

Jon and Sean, will be working as part of the Princes Trust, have over 15 years of experience in youth work between them. They have already been out wandering parts of Dunston and Teams, engaging with young people, running activities, and helping young people to get back on track.

Councillor Brenda Clelland said: ”We’ve had 2 successful youth club nights at Dunston Help For Families hub recently, so we’ll be keeping that going, kids play footie, basketball, pool or just hang out, have chips & pop. The two youth officers are also involved in starting a new evening session at the Sound Room, with a recording studio, all to do with electronic music, I’m hoping we can get a voice coach involved too, for all those budding Beyoncé’s.”
