The much-anticipated world premiere of ‘The Drifters Girl’ is finally coming – starting in Newcastle!

Soul sensation Beverley Knight is set to star as The Drifters Girl, the hugely anticipated stage show based on Faye Treadwell, the legendary manager of The Drifters.

Beverley started her career with her debut album titled B-Funk in 1995, with classic hits like ‘Flavour Of The Old School’ and ‘Moving On Up’. Knight has since starred in the West End, had sell-out shows across the UK and released a total of eight studio albums to date.

The show will showcase the story of one of the world’s greatest vocal groups and the team that helped turn them into stars.

From selling hit records and sell out tours to personal issues, tragedy and legal battles – the stage performance will have it all.

When watching the show, enjoy an iconic soundtrack featuring ‘Stand By Me’, ‘Kissin In The Back Row Of The Movies’, Saturday Night At The Movies’, ‘Save The Last Dance For Me’ and ‘Come On Over To My Place’.

The show also features Adam J Bernard from Dreamgirls, Matt Henry from Kinky Boots, Tarinn Callender of Hamilton and Tosh Wanogho-Maud from Showboat.

Beverley said about the show ”Faye was one of the first African-American female managers in the music industry. What she did was so brave and so fearless and so unheard of at the time. My dad loved The Drifters and he always used to sing ‘Save The Last Dance For Me’.

We’ve got four guys who are just brilliant, brilliant actors. They bring those songs to life.’

The show is set to run from Saturday 9th-Sat 23rd October 2021, before London’s West End premiere. Don’t miss out on this incredible show!
